Proviso East - Towns & Grade Schools
Since we all attended grade schools and/or junior high prior to our years at Proviso, included in this website is information from those years as well. By selecting the "Grade Schools & Junior High" category, information about the towns where classmates went to these schools can also be provided. Currently, most all the information available is related to Forest Park, which is where I grew up and went to school. Information about the other towns will be dependent on what others choose to submit to this website.
Selecting a town provides various information selections relating to that town (when available):
You now have the option to select from the following information:
Around
Town: Photos of specific houses in the neighborhood along
with landmarks and stores around the town.
Grade
Schools & Junior Highs: Photos when growing up of classmates, teachers, and
activities in the various schools in the town.
Friends: Photos of friends while growing up.
Sport
Teams: Photos of school and town sport teams while growing up.
Town
Reunions: Photos of specific town reunions and/or events.
I Remember: This webpage that can be
added to with your memories of growing up in this town.
Navagation Comments:
A couple of things to note about the
photos.
IMPORTANT - There are three
action boxes above most photos. The first one "Previous"
returns to the previous photo. The second one Goes "Play"
or "Pause" begins or
pauses the slideshow. The last one "Return"
returns you to the previous webpage. NOTE:
Clicking on any photo will begin to play a slideshow from that photo or advance to the next photo in the
sequence. Note- You can also copy any photos by right clicking on it and selecting "Save Picture As" and
specifying where you want to save it.
A Couple Items -
First – you absolutely will find problems and mistakes with the programs and the information.
I
created a lot of these pages in the wee hours of the morning. I know this isn’t a good excuse because I've been known to make mistakes no matter what time of day. But, this all was put together
with a lot of learning and
trial and errors along the way. I did some checking, but I think the best way to test it all out is to have
others use it and forward any problems, errors, etc. you encounter to me.
Second – I welcome more photos, more classmate information, town
information, etc. You can send your information in an email or if you need
photos scanned, send them via regular mail and I'll scan and return
them.
Third –
Finally –
I really enjoyed my youth and growing up when I did. I'm not sure I would
want to do it over again, but I do enjoy remembering and reminiscing about
those "Good Ol' Days", and I'm guessing most of you do too.
Hopefully this website will provide a means of looking back at simpler times and
fondly remembering family, friends, and especially fellow classmates. My
best wishes for health and happiness to all those who touched my life while I
was growing up.
